Jeanne Gilligan founded A Helping Wing Parrot Rescue in 2008 and serves as its Executive Director. Based in Blairstown, New Jersey, the rescue provides lifelong care, rehabilitation, and adoption services for parrots, particularly large and special-needs species.

Jeanne oversees daily operations and long-term planning for the organization, including avian medical care, disease prevention protocols, volunteer coordination, enrichment programming, and adopter education. She is directly involved in the adoption process to ensure thoughtful, well-matched placements that prioritize the physical and emotional well-being of each bird.

Her leadership is grounded in a strong belief that parrots deserve informed, committed guardians and environments where they can thrive. Through A Helping Wing, Jeanne continues to advocate for parrots in need while promoting responsible, ethical parrot ownership.
